Broad interest about festival EJU MEKLET
For the first time a broad interest of foreign experts is dedicated to the Latvian professional theater program for children and young people.
For the first time a broad interest of foreign experts is dedicated to the Latvian professional theater program for children and young people. Almost 20 foreign experts will attend festival “EJU MEKLĒT!” in Riga from all Nordic and Baltic countries, the Czech Republic, Russia and Germany. All experts unite professional affiliation to the International Children and Youth Theater Association ASSITEJ. It is also known that the director Jānis Znotiņš will join the International Directors’ Seminar from June 12 to 18, 2017 at THEATER WREDE in Oldenburg, organized by the German ASSITEJ.
In addition, a cooperation with European networks SMALLSIZE BIG CITIZENS is expected. This network pays particular attention to the baby theater audiences in performing arts. Network leader Katariina Metsälampi will visit the Festival as well.
All experts on 10 and 11 March will take part in evening discussions of the festival club, as well as the March 10, in the House ZIRGU PASTS of Latvian Academy of Culture in the ongoing seminar “Performing arts for children / young people – for entertainment, education, personality.”
For the first time in Riga March 9 to 12 simultaneously on many stages will be played twenty-three performances in playhouses – Latvian Puppet Theatre, Latvian National Theatre, New Riga Theatre, Cultural space 3MĀSAS, I-dance house, Quarter Kalnciema, Ziemeļblāzmas Cultural Center, Gallery ISTABA, Congress Hall and Riga Art Space.
